How can I best encourage friends and family to keep in contact and not be put off by long distance or international call rates when I move?

You have two options. For a low cost, you can add a local number, called a 'Virtual Number,' to your existing service to cost effectively stay connected to your loved ones.

Say you move to a new province. With Vonage, you can add a Virtual Number in your old area code. With that Virtual Number, friends a family can call you for the cost of a local call. Log in to your Online Account to check for Virtual availability.

Alternatively you can give up your existing number and get a number in your new area code.

I have high-speed internet access at my new location, what do I have to do to move my Vonage service?

You can simply pack your Vonage phone adapter when you re-locate and connect it to your broadband router at your new address.

Do I have to disconnect my Vonage service when I move?

No, just connect your existing Vonage phone adapter to your high speed internet connection at your new address.

Can I keep my number when I move?

Yes, you can keep your number and take it with you wherever you decide to move. Alternatively you can add an additional number that is local to your new location. Just log in to your Online Account and check the availability of numbers in your new area code.

Do I need to purchase another line for a local number?

No. You have 2 options on your existing Vonage line. You can give up your existing number and replace it with a local number in your new area code. Or you can purchase a low cost Virtual Number.

Do I need to update the 911 address?

Yes. It is important to update your registered 911 address through your Online Account so that in the event of an emergency, 911 can locate you.

What happens to my number when I move?

Your number will always stay associated to your Vonage phone adapter unless you decide to change it.

Do I have to update my billing information?

Yes, now that you have moved, remember to log into your Online Account and update your billing information with your new address to avoid payment failure due to address mismatch.
