How does Vonage work?

Plug your Vonage phone adapter into your high speed Internet connection. Then take any standard telephone and plug it into the phone adapter. Plug your computer into your Vonage phone adapter and you´re ready to go. Talk on the phone and surf the web with ease. You can be up and running within minutes of receiving your Vonage phone adapter. Setup usually takes less than 5 minutes and there´s no software to install.

What Do I Need?

You´ll need a high-speed Ethernet broadband Internet connection such as Cable Internet or DSL service. You can get Cable Internet from your local Cable TV company. DSL would be from your local phone company. You´ll also need a Canadian shipping address.

If you order from Vonage, we´ll send you a phone adapter. Plug your phone adapter into your high speed Internet connection. Then take any standard telephone and plug it into the phone adapter. That´s all you need.

How Did They Do That?

When you pick up the phone, the Vonage phone adapter converts your voice into data and sends it through the Internet like an email. Our network sends the call where you want it and translates it back into voice. That means when the person you´re calling picks up the phone, it sounds just the same as any other call.

When someone calls you, they dial your number, your phone rings, and all you have to do is pick up and answer it. The only difference is the lower phone bills.
